Dream Bedroom revisited

the reason why the last post was entitled “Dream Bedroom”  was because I was going to post pictures of what I really would like my bedroom to look like… but then I somehow started it off on the wrong foot by telling ya’ll about my weird burrito dream.

So anyway here are some pictures of what inspires me for what I would like my bedroom to look like.  Chad is not on board at all.  He thinks that if we had a white bed set that the kids would instantly go find themselves a mud puddle and then try to make snow angels on top of the comforter.  But this is what I’m holding out for and I’m a girl who likes to pretend that I get what I want.

by the way I went to yoga last night you know because I’m on a quest for Serenity in 2010 and it helped a little.  There was one part where I was meditating and she was saying “Whatever bad things are in your mind write down the one word that you associate with it, write it down on a piece of paper, roll it up, tie it to a balloon and watch it drift away”  So I wrote down a word, rolled it up, watched it drift away and not kidding the balloon then popped and it came back down to me and i was like “stupid brain”  so then I did it again… and right when I was tying it to the balloon she changed poses on us!!!

but it made me miss my sister Stephanie a whole lot.  She is a great yoga instructor.  She has this peace about her that I love and appreciate.  And why I love it so much is because she’s really earned it.  and I think thats why people can really feel it during her classes,  because its real and genuine and trusting.

found this song the other day and i’m really feeling it right now

 especially these words:

No, this is how it works,
You peer inside yourself,
You take the things you like,
Then try to love the things you took.
And then you take the love you made,
And stick it into some,
Someone else’s heart,
Pumping someone else’s blood.
And walking arm in arm,
You hope you don’t get harmed.
But even if it does,
You’ll just do it all again.

Well now that I’ve turned this into such a hodge podge of a post I’ll tell you something else.  I dyed my hair the other day and also my eyebrows and it stained my skin purple.  So I googled “how to remove hair dye stains”  and it gave me some options.  First I used baking soda toothpaste.  then nail polish remover.  burned!  the other option they gave me was to get cigerette ash and mix it with shampoo but I didn’t have any cigarette ash on hand :(  so I kept reading and it told me to get a mr clean magic eraser.  I did that and it worked… but basically it was like sandpaper and it rubbed the skin off my face.  it hurt so bad!!!

oh and I got a new headband yesterday at Target.  it kinda looks like this

that about does it! have a great weekend - love shell

New Faves

So I have like 10 pairs of jeans.  6 of them are to big and when I wear them I have saggy bottom.  2 of them are too tight and then I have wrangler butt and muffin top, and 2 of them are perfect except that they are really long so if I want to wear them I have to wear heels.  Which in most of my every day life situations I can’t be tramping around in my heels.  So I had to get a new pair of jeans and I FOUND THE PERFECT JEANS!

OLD NAVY  “The Diva” Skinny Jeans

now usually I steer FAR AWAY from skinny jeans because of my butt’s bone structure.  But I thought I’d give it a go one more time and if they didn’t work out I would never go after that dream again.  I would write “Wear Skinny Jeans” on a little slip of paper with a cool caligraphy pen and then I’d kneel by my fire place with enya playing in the back ground

and then I would take a match or a vanilla candle or something and burn that little piece of paper up.  and then I would collect the ashes in my hand and go outside and blow them into 4 directions and let the winds carry them where they may.

anyway I didn’t have to create that beautiful ceremony because I tried these on and I looked DAM good.  Like Beyonce.  and I did a finger snap and sashayed around a little. and then I went up to the fitting room guy and said “To the Left To the Left” in his face.

These jeans fit snug but not too snug, and they are high waisted enough to not give you muffin top but not so high waisted that you look like a mama kangaroo.  and the legs are skinny but not like “EMO 16 year old boy with long shaggy hair who wears tight skinny jeans” skinny.

Also I have to endorse THREADING.

I went to this woman the other day  who is from Isreal.  (I like to say it like this IS RYE ALE)  who does hair (and gave me the best blow dry I’ve ever had)  and while we were waiting for my foils she was like “can I thread your eye brows?”  and I was like “but I just plucked them” and she was like “oh honey I can fine tune those and make them look so much better” and i was like “okay” and she was like “okay”

So she takes this piece of string and twists it around and starts going crazy on my eyebrows. It didn’t hurt that bad… a lot less than waxing and tweezing.  but not child birth… child birth hurts more.

and its true she fine tuned those bad boys which were pretty good or so I thought into works of art.  so if you live in Georgia you need to give this woman a call and give your eyebrows a shot in life to be something more.

also my highlights were so pretty and natural.  did I mention that she gave me a blow dry that lasted for days?  She’s good.

My last new fave is this store!

You’ll have to just go check it out… but its like european, casual, not not to casual, refined and beautiful clothing… without trying to hard.  I love it.

Who else do you think should be added to this list?

Twilight

Okay so Chad earned MEGA points today by taking me to Twilight.  I wasn’t uber excited to go.  I didn’t really like books 2,3,4 of the Twilight series.  At the same time though I wanted to go see the movie.  So Chad and I went to the 10am showing this morning and it was packed.  175 women and Chad. Pretty good odds honey ;)

Some disappointing things - NOT ONE LADY was wearing a Twilight shirt.  I expected to see a couple “I heart Edward” or “Bite Me”.  bummers.  One lady in front of me was texting someone  during the entire movie on what she was seeing.  I thought that was lame.  I mean she should have just texted “Go Read Twilight”

also There was a lady who sat right next to me who was by herself.  During the whole show she quietly kept making sounds whenever Edward was on the screen.  You know what kind of sounds I’m talking about too.  ewie.

It was very good.  I really had a great time. Well until the drive home when I critiqued Chad on his driving, so to drive me even more bonkers he pretended like he was an old guy and hunched over on the wheel and drove 10 miles under the speed limit.  yes the whole 15 minute drive home.

Fab Friday 5/30/08

Today is overcast here in “Hot”lanta.  Which I like.  Makes me want to make some stew and read a book all cozied up in a quilt.  So here’s my outfit that I would buy if I had a $100.  Its just so cozy and comfy!!!

Fab Friday

Remember when I started that tradition of virtual window shopping and picking out what I’d buy if I had a $100 to spend.  And I was going to do it every friday. and then I didn’t do it last friday and let every one down.  especially my grandma.

Today’s window shopping is going to be with a twist… sometimes I get all jealous at celebrities because they get to dress up and still pretend like they are 17 and going to prom 3/4 of the year with all the award shows.  and its just not FAIR.  I mean I would love to get dressed up all fancy in some ball gown… but uh where would I go… Kroger? Church? Playgroup?    Maybe I’ll have to join some charity so that I can go to a charity ball or something.

Today the theme is “what would I wear if I lived in Hollywood and wanted to go to a hot party at some club, was a size 0, and wasn’t a Mormon…” and I’m still going to keep it at $100

The Dress
The Dress

found at Nordstrom’s for $31.90

The Shoes

You can buy these bad boys for $64.00 at Zappos.com

So that leaves me with $4.10 which in Hollywood I could probably buy…. 2 red bulls.
