Say Yes to the Dress

Say Yes to the Dress is one of my new favorite shows on TLC.  Its basically about Brides going to Kleinfelds (a high end wedding dress store) in Manhattan and finding their dream dress.  And I love it love it love it.

If I could do my wedding day over I would change two things.  I would have had a really nice intimate dinner instead of a reception and I would have had a different dress.  I rented mine (that part was great) but I just wish I could have had the dress of my dreams instead of a $200 rental.

So if I could redo my dress here’s some dresses that I like…

basically I would like something simple, romantic, and more form fitting.  kindof a vintage look to it.

So what would you change about your wedding day.  You can comment here or post about it I would love to see.

I’m mclovin’ this show, too!! If I could change one thing about my wedding day…….I’d schedule it so I wasn’t, um “being a girl” that week. I’d also go on a honeymoon. But I’d keep the big, fun reception. I wanted a dance/party and that’s what I got! My grandma made my dress, and I loved that. I’m hoping she can make a blessing dress out of the train.

I love this show too. I love the high drama episodes, of course. That first dress is amazing!

I’ve never seen that show. . .better get on that! Those dresses in your photos are amazing! I agree with you. . . if I could change my wedding, I would have gotten a different dress too. I bought mine at a clearance sale for $300, and it was pretty enough, but most definitely not the dress of my dreams and I wish I could go back and put a different dress on myself when I see pictures.

Besides my husband, I think I would change everything about my wedding! lol. We had two weeks to plan, a tiny budget, and I was so annoyed with my mom and dad, I told them to just take care of everything. So I ended up with a wedding that should have taken place in 1990. But most of all, I would have splurged on a great photographer. Our photos suck.

I wouldn’t change anything but the big zit I had on my forehead. I told my parents all I cared about was the dress, flowers, and photographer. We paid way too much for the dress, tho not compared to most of the ladies on that show (it was Christian Dior, silk organza), but it was so great my sister, two cousins and a friend all wore it after me, so the per bride cost wasn’t so bad. I only wish it hadn’t been in Phoenix in July. Miserable weather.

i LOVE that show.

and, since i have never been married (stopping now for pity party) i am just going to take your advice up front. i plan on having a small, intimate dinner and no reception. i also love the idea of a “vintage inspired” dress. i want to spend money on a great photographer and craft most of the “details” myself.

I LOVE that show! I am ready for some new episodes because I think I’ve seen them all! I would love to go play dress up and try on dresses again! I know that the sales people would love it!

I would have changed my dress and the color of my bridesmaids dresses. I would have changed my hair and make-up too!

Well, I was 19 and naive about weddings. So it definitely could have been better. I did love my dress and my flowers were great. But I’d redo the whole reception stuff. The receiving line is such a joke. Why do that to yourself? And we had a ring ceremony after the temple wedding and I was so bummed when it got to the “you may now kiss your bride” part and I realized I didn’t have my veil down! So we just kissed. :( I also sang a song with my sister at the ring ceremony that was great but I messed up the words a bit and the mic wasn’t situated where I could see Brad so I couldn’t really sing to him. It was all kinda haphazard. Oh well. Still a great day. :)

Dude, I would’ve changed a lot of things, mostly the dress and mostly the photographer! I wish I’d atleast thought about what kind of pictures I wanted instead of just sitting there with a dumb smile on my face the whole time! :) Some things I think are stupid and not to be so stressed over, but some things really do matter…mostly I would change that it wasn’t an unhappy experience (planning the wedding–with my mom…)!
